Gina Gilson

I'm an interdisciplinary researcher working on natural resource governance, with a focus on water policy and politics.

I am an incoming Assistant Professor of Environmental & Natural Resource Policy at Utah State University (August 2026).

I was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Political Science at the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Researcher at the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy at the University of Arizona. I received my PhD in Geography and the Environment from the University of Oxford in 2025

My interests are broadly related to water governance and the intersection between formal institutions (i.e. legal frameworks and policies) and informal institutions (i.e. social norms and trust).
